2025/26 Admission Arrangements for Nursery (K1) Classes

Parents assist with the applicants for applying the “2025/26 RC” to EDB from September to November 2024	KGs process 2025/26 K1 admission applications²

EDB will generally take six to eight weeks to complete processing of the applications and issue the “2025/26 RC” to eligible applicants¹ by post

KGs inform applicants of the application result before 30^th November 2024

Applicants register with one KG during the “centralised registration date” (2-4/1/2025) By submitting the “2025/26 RC” ³and paying the registration fee: $970---half-day class, $1570---full-day class)	Applicants refer to the K1 vacancy information released by EDB after the “centralised registration dates” (Starting from early February 2025)

KGs issue a letter of admission matters to applicants’ parent in May 2025

Applicants’ parent comes to one KG for the admission procedures in June 2025

Note:

If parents cannot submit the RC / AP to the kindergarten their child has been admitted to during the "Centralized Registration Dates", the kindergarten concerned may not be able to complete registration for their child. Hence, parents are required to submit RC application to the EDB within the designated period.
If the child is admitted after the "Centralized Registration Dates", parents must still bring along the RC / AP for registration. Should parents decide to change school, they must get back the RC from the kindergarten they have initially registered. When the parents get back the RC from the kindergarten they have initially registered, it shall indicate that that kindergarten concerned will no longer keep the place for the child and the "registration fee" paid to that kindergarten with which the child has been registered will not be refunded.【 The registration fee for half-day place is HK$970 / whole-day place is HK$1,570 】
Parents who apply for admission for their child must submit in person a completed application form together with the following information and registration fee $40:
the application form affixed with the passport photo of the child, a copy of the child’s Birth Certificate [if the child was not born in Hong Kong, a copy of the document of identity for visa or reentry permit must be submitted], a copy of the immunization record [attach the name of the child and the date of injection], 3 self-addressed envelopes with a stamp ($2.2) and child name on each envelope.
